The Hotel

Located on our 550-hectare family farm in the meadow of Extremadura, this beautiful 19th-century farmhouse has been restored, respecting the original elements and with carefully adaptation to the needs of the accommodation.

It is a project always dreamed of by Pedro Valenzuela, our father, who, together with Albalá and Cordero Arquitectos, have made this dream a reality.

What was the main area of the farmhouse, the barn and the stable, has been converted into cozy Rooms and bright Lounges. Existing wood and stone elements have been recovered, subtly mixed with contemporary touches. That same balance between the modern and the old can be seen in the interior design chosen by our decorators, who perfectly captured our claim to safeguard the essence of the place and its authenticity, creating environments that evoke rest, reading, and enjoyment. In this farmhouse, you can breathe history in every corner.

From the beginning, La Dehesa de Don Pedro has been designed as a traditional country house, imagining that “don Pedro” receives you. However, it has all the details and comfort of a wonderful boutique hotel.

Aesthetically, each space designed by the renowned interior designers Las 2 Mercedes, has been conceived in a different way, like rooms in a house. Each room or hall is different from the one next to it; it has its own personality and its own charm.

On the other hand, a very careful selection of natural fabrics and materials has been made, linen, wood, ceramics, esparto grass, in accordance with the environment, the  meadow of Extremadura and in keeping with the building itself. It has been sought that guests feel in full connection with nature and at the same time as in their own country house.

All rooms are distributed around a beautiful central patio with wonderful views of the meadow. We have underfloor heating in all our rooms for maximum comfort with huge beds for a superior rest.

La Dehesa de Don Pedro has 2 small and charming lounges next to each other, where natural light is the protagonist and invites you to enjoy a good read, drink a delicious tea or simply enjoy the tranquility that is breathed there.

On the other hand, the main hall of the farmhouse, located next to the restaurant, has several spaces to enjoy in company. What was the barn of the farmhouse is now one of the most privileged rooms.

Swimming pool and Gym

Our swimming pool, located in one of the most beautiful places on the estate due to its dream views, is a perfect place to enjoy the surroundings and the characteristic good weather of the place.

In that same area we have a bar that serves bathers and a multipurpose room that we use as a gym or meeting room from which we can see the infinite swimming pool and the spectacular natural scenery.

Sauna and Jacuzzi

In the old a wood-fired oven, today there is a small spa with a Finnish sauna overlooking the garden and a Jacuzzi available to guests.

Patio and Gardens

Our gardens, designed by the Rocío Sainz de Rozas landscaping studio, are key in the transition between the building and the beautiful natural environment where we find ourselves, whose axis is based on the native plant and the intrinsic beauty of this beautiful meadow (Dehesa).

The arrival at the hotel is organized through a structured garden. The façade is made up of vertical lines of cypresses on a background of climbers that add greenery to the building. The inner patio maintains the balanced character of the building and preserves the three existing palm trees before the renovation. Looking for leafiness in the interior, aromatic jasmines have been planted in the porticos. Among the pots, the large Ficus lyrata from the hotel reception stands out among other pots of green leaves and fruit trees.

Facing south, our formal garden is located between walls with light French touches, where you can lose yourself for a moment reading in the shade surrounded by rose bushes of different types among other species.

The main garden, which is located behind the hotel and next to the restaurant and terrace area, is conceived as a natural garden of organic shapes, where you can enjoy the flowering of perennials that evolves throughout the seasons.

Deciduous climbing plants have been planted on the pillars of the restaurant’s pergola, which in winter let the sun through and in summer dress up to generate shade in the living areas.
